Graphic design is all around us. As a graphic designer, you play a major role in how people receive information everyday. Our Digital Media – Graphic Design degree teaches you the intricacies of layout and design of electronic graphic and textual products. Students use computer applications and related visual techniques to manipulate images and information originating as artwork, digital photography, and digital copy. Our program includes instruction in specialized computer software and applications for commercial, industrial, and entertainment design needs. Students gain knowledge and develop skills to work in web design, print media, and illustration.

Students have the ability to choose to attend classes face-to-face in person (synchronous), live online in real-time (synchronous), online (asynchronous) OR any combination of the three. -

YCCC’s Graphic Design degree prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to the layout and design of electronic graphic and textual products. Students use computer applications and related visual techniques to manipulate images and information originating as artwork, digital photography, and digital copy in order to communicate messages simulating real-world Graphic Design.
Courses
In addition to a foundation of art education, graphic design courses include instruction in digital imaging, illustration, motion graphics, typography, web page development, and 3D presentation.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate mastery of technical skills in traditional and digital media, applying principles of design to their work.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of software applications related to digital media.
- Develop media content that displays both current technical knowledge and traditional design principles.
- Collaborate as a team in the development of media content from concept to production.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in bringing ideas from concept to production
- Research design trends to choose appropriate fonts, imagery, and colors for an array of design projects.
- Analyze the appropriate demographic influences on design trends and product development
